History of the studio:The idea of our art studio is that it should be an after school center for children and adults. Working with clay, everyone can realize their quest for inspiration and creativity. ...Clay is a magic material - alive, supple. It has absorbed the energy of three elements
- earth, sun and air. Burnt earthenware can live forever: in the 21st century
we enjoy antique amphoras... So what to do if there is a lot of spare time during weekends, vacations and holidays? Well, we know that kids get a lot of pleasure working with clay. Anna is certain of this fact - she discovered it long ago while working with children both in Russia and in India. From this idea has come the creation of our ceramic art studio 'White Peacock'. Well, it's good, if there is an idea. But for the realization of the idea we need considerable funds. First - the location is needed. SAIIER (Sri Aurobindo International Institute for Educational Research) donated the small house in the Auroville kindergarten campus, and it also provided the funds for studio furniture. Now, simultaneously, fifteen kids can attend the studio. In order to begin full-fledged classes, it is necessary to renovate the house, to bring electricity. Then the electrical baking oven (kiln) that was presented to the studio by some Russian friends can start working! |
